Apleona HSG has made a formal commitment in supporting the employment of veterans and their families through the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that no member of this community, including those who serve, have served and their families; should face disadvantage compared to any other citizen.
As a result of signing the Covenant, Apleona will promote that it is an Armed Forces friendly organisation and will seek to support the employment of veterans, young and old, while striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners.
In addition, Apleona will endeavour to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment and seek to support employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces.
James Thoden van Velzen, Apleona UK and Ireland Chief Executive, Officer, said: “The sacrifices made by our Armed Forces in defending our country, and the key role played by their families in supporting their effectiveness, cannot be overstated. This is why Apleona is proud to offer our full respect, support and commitment in providing fair treatment for members of the Royal Navy, Army and the Royal Air Force and their families, while recognising the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business.”
Colonel (Rtd) Hugh Purcell, Chief Executive of the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Greater London welcomed Apleona UK’s commitment to support the Armed Forces community
“We know that the vast majority of people and organisations in the UK hold the utmost respect for our Armed Forces but that support is often left unsaid. That’s why it’s so important that Apleona UK have joined the growing number of organisations in making a very public commitment to ensuring the Armed Forces community is not disadvantaged as a result of their service or the service of a family member.”
